Kelly Sibley running for Cancer Research UK
Leamington League life-member and England No 1, Kelly Sibley,  is embarking on a new challenge this autumn and is hoping for your help in her aim to raise money for Cancer Research UK at the Bupa Great Birmingham Run (October 19, 2014).

Kelly was dealt a blow in March when her niece, Flo, was diagnosed with Leukaemia. As a family-orientated person, the news hit hard, but rather than feel down for herself, Kelly has decided to take action and help to raise money for their cause by running the Birmingham Half Marathon.

She said: "In March this year my niece Flo was diagnosed with leukaemia - it came as a huge surprise to watch her go from being 100mph everyday to being in bed with no desire to do anything!

"When we found out that Flo was diagnosed with Leukaemia it was like a knife through the heart, we were all absolutely devastated. But we have such a good family bond and great supportive friends we are coming together as one to fight this awful disease."

The pair are now spending time at the Birmingham Children's Hospital where Flo is receiving her treatment and where Kelly decided to run the half marathon. With the help of the other members of 'RunTeamFlo' Joanna Drinkhall, Hannah Hicks, Liz May and Laura Snow they are hoping to raise £2,500 (or more!) for Cancer Research UK.

Kelly was quick to thank her team mates: "I would just like to take the opportunity to thank the girls for coming together and help support me and my family through this difficult time and very grateful to them for helping me raise money for this great charity.

"I would really appreciate and be very thankful to people if they could donate what ever they can to www.justgiving.com/RunTeamFlo or txt SIBS88 £5 (or how ever much they are willing to donate) to 70070?

We are fortunate to have one of the largest leagues in the country with many members, so lets get behind Kelly and help her get past her £2,500 target.  You can read a little more from Kelly herself on her website at www.kellysibley.com and view her fund raising progress and make donations at www.justgiving.com/RunTeamFlo
