Lillington Free Church TTC sent 4 teams to day 4 of the National Cadet League, East Midlands region, and won all 3 divisions, despite the loss of their number 1 player through injury which affected the composition of every side. The A team of Lee Dorning, Sam Weaving and Kit Turner had victories over Westfield A (Wellingborough), Bedford Modern A and B, Milton Keynes and drew with Draycott (Long Eaton). Dorning claimed a 100% record. The B team of Adam Cofler, Adam Pulman and Tom Harris beat Westfield C, Cliffedale Chambers A (Grantham), Bedford Modern C and Dacorum of Hemel Hempstead and drew with Westfield B, Tom Harris boasting an undefeated record. The C team of Josh Wyatt-Smith, Olivia Fletcher and Tom Fletcher defeated Sycamore A and B (Nottingham), Cliffedale B and C and Lillington D with Olivia posting a 100% record. Lillington D’s  squad of Lewis Singleton, Eve Briscoe, Jenny Singleton and Katie Singleton notched two draws and a win to complete an outstanding day for the club.

In Division 1 of the Leamington League Colebridge A stormed to the top of the table with a 10-0 whitewashing of County Council B with Ian Ferguson, Kate Hughes and Navinder Matharu in invincible form. Nearest rivals Rugby A dropped 3 points to County Council A with Jesse Kendrick-Hill and Matthew Outhwaite taking maximums and Anshul Satsangi successful in one singles. Pat McCabe and Phil Paine each won once and combined for the doubles. Rugby B helped their survival chances in the top flight with a 6-4 victory over bottom team Colebridge B. Ryan Lines was the star taking his 3 plus the doubles with Sam Ricks. Ricks and Ben Holvey notched a single each with Vikas Bakshi (2) and John Taylor (2) replying.

Other results: Free Church A 7 (Deepak Chandrababu 1, Luke Hobbins 1, Chris Mulligan 1 +D + 3 conceded) Potters Green 3 (Ryan Stockham 2, Taran Dhillon 1) ; Wellesbourne 3 (3 conceded) St Georges B 7 (Mark Jackson 3, Matthew Man 3 +D).

In Division 2 relegation threatened Free Church C eased their problems with a 6-4 win over Eathorpe A. Solomon Hayes secured his hat-trick, Anthony Smith won twice and Cherry Matthews once with Pete Titmas (2) the villagers’ main man. Eathorpe improved to draw with bottom side St. Georges E for whom Tracey Fletcher and Pete Harris won braces and Richard Grover a single. Eathorpe bounced back with a treble from Titmas, one from Chris Atkins, with the pair triumphing in the doubles. The division’s top two players met in the clash between Free Church D and Phoenix with F C ‘s Timmy Cooper inflicting a rare defeat on Paul Calloway. Cooper went on to lead his team to an 8-2 success taking his 3 plus the doubles with Lee Dorning who, like Roald Myers, won twice. Second placed Free Church B edged Whitnash A 6-4. Jon Williams made his seasonal debut for Whitnash and won 3 but Michael Ho and Luke Hobbins took two apiece and the doubles with Jeff Harris winning once. Rugby C maintained their challenge at the top with an 8-2 roasting of St. Georges D. Anshul Satsangi posted a treble, Niall Herbert and Paul Lilley two each and Rugby took the doubles. They then defeated Nomads A by the same score. Lilley and Satsangi 3 , Herbert 1 plus the doubles.

In Division 3 leaders Snitterfield walloped Free Church F 10-0 with Stuart Ayres, Tim Fell and Rob Poole the ruthless trio. Free Church E remain second but fell 3-7 to lowly WCC C for whom Derek Harwood starred with 3. Tony Ford and Mark Freeman weighed in with twos. Whitnash B blasted Rugby D 8-2, Len Coonan (3), Greg Swan (3), Jayne Fitton (1) plus the doubles. Flavels were also 8-2 winners at Nomads C. Steve Lyons took maximum points including the doubles with Roger Potts who won two, as did Mick Bennett. Free Church G liked the 8-2 scoreline too and inflicted this on Nomads B. Sam Weaving and Sam Wiggins notched 7 of the points with Dudley Turner winning once.

Leaders Free Church J were held by a determined Eathorpe B in Division 4. Paul Deavall (2), Sophie Cooper (1) and Michael Rossington (1) added to a Cooper/ Rossington doubles’ win posing problems for the visitors. Adam Cofler’s three and Roger Palmer’s two restored parity.  Warwickshire’s finest girl talent was on display as Free Church K entertained Rugby E. K’s Olivia Fletcher won all 3 singles and Jack Green won once but Rugby took the other 6 points through Millie Bradshaw and Graham Harvey twosomes and Emma Kilpatrick’s single. Bradshaw and Kilpatrick won the vital doubles. Ashorne A were in good form against WCC D triumphing 8-2. Steve Bolton won 3, Chris Bowles (2) and Roger Kelley (2) with the doubles going to the latter duo. 

Topspinners have seized top spot in Division A, defeating Eathorpe D 4-1. Richard Lancucki was unbeaten in singles and won the doubles with Russell Smith who added one. Champions Free Church L are chasing and saw off Snitterfield C 3-2. Keith Knott and Tony Williams won singles and doubles but neither could master Henry Lu. Eathorpe C pipped FISCC 3-2 despite a brace of wins from Mark Jones. Richard Freeman and Dave Hawker claimed the other points. Free Church N have a comfortable lead in Division B after beating Eathorpe E 4-1. Jay Virdi won his two singles and the doubles, partnering James Robertson who won once. Division C leaders St. Georges F were beaten by the new and rapidly improving Eathorpe H. Shaun Martin (2) and George Miller (1) helped them to a 3-2 success. Free Church O are second and beat their Q team 3-2, thanks to a Jeremy Knott double and a doubles win with brother Ashley. Eathorpe F were 4-1 winners over Free Church T. John Gymer won two, Norbu Sunang-Joret one and the pair took the doubles. In division D Free Church S trounced Free Church U 4-1. Jenny Singleton  was unbeaten in singles and doubles with Sophie Bethell who won once. Free Church W inflicted the same scoreline on FC V with Daniel Strand maintaining his 100% record and guiding Carolyn Dorning to the doubles. Dorning also won one.
