Match Report 31 October 2016

Dalton Domination

It is early days in the Kendal & District Table Tennis League, but Division 1 is currently being dominated by Dalton Cricket Club, with their A & B teams holding the top 2 positions. Dalton A secured an important 6-4 victory over rival title contenders, Natland A, despite man of the match, Roger Pimblett, winning all 3 of his singles matches and then partnering John Fearon to success in the doubles. Dalton B have also started well with comfortable victories over Natland C and Crook A, Stephen Bushell the star of the show with a 100% record.

Division 2 looks like being a very tight contest this season with a lot of closely matched teams. Dallam A are currently leading the way with 22 points from their first 3 matches.

Kirkby Stephen C have leapt to the top of Division 3 with a crushing 28-5 demolition of 2-man Dallam D. Man of the match was Nathan Wolstenholme. The euphoria may be short lived, however, as both Dent and Grayrigg have a game in hand.

The second coaching session, run by Graham Coupe from the Garstang Regional Training Centre, took place on Sunday, October 30th at Natland Table Tennis Club. Those who attended this excellent session received expert tuition in forehand topspin and half long serves. Next session on November 27th.
