Our congratulations go to the winner, Mark Johnson, who, not surprisingly, is a hard bat specialist. Johnson is a former winner of the Harold Wilcock Trophy and may well be playing with a -5 handicap next year. Commiserations to the runner-up Malc Lewis as it was third time unlucky for him in the final.

It's all change at the top of the Isle of Man Table Tennis league. Division One leaders Copy Shop A weren't playing this week and the two teams below them took full advantage to move ahead of the reigning champions. Arbory and Breakaway A defeated the two bottom teams 10-0 so the position now, after seven matches, is that Arbory head the division on 53 points followed by Breakaway on 52 and Copy Shop with 49. We are now about a third of the way through the league season.
via Isle Of Man Table Tennis Association ::
Two of the most important matches of the season so far took place this week with a meeting between the top two teams in each of the first two divisions. The fixtures didn't disappoint with second placed Breakaway A defeating leaders Copy Shop A 6-4 in Division One while Travellers B and Zurich Spinners fought out a 5-5 draw in Division Two.
