BECKY BAYLEY WINS UK GP TITLE

Congratulations to Becky Bayley, seven times Island U'18 Girls Champion, who won her first UK ranking title by taking the Bribar Bristol GP - Women's Band Four competition on 10/11/12.

A Little background - as part of Rebecca's development plan she continues to enter a number of UK Grand Prix events. These are senior events, and are used by the top players in the UK to build up ranking points. This was the third Rebecca has entered this year, having already been to Liverpool and Newcastle. The next one planned is Doncaster in Feb13, as there are no more until then.   She is also playing in the Senior British League (Div: 3 North) for Arbory, and in the Ladies British League for Fusion (a team based in the UK).

In Bristol on Saturday 10/11/12 she won the ladies band 4 (they go from 1 to 4), and also played in band 3, reaching the quarter finals.

On the Sunday she played in the ladies singles in the morning, but did not progress out of her group. In the afternoon Rebecca played in the U21’s, & finished 4th.

Rebecca was also awarded “Bribar player of the weekend” by the organisers of the event (this covers men & ladies). Awarded on the basis of ongoing improvement, commitment, and general all round play.
