Division 1 play off
The young Foxdale A side started as favourites to retain their place in the top division against the experienced Travellers B team.
Will Bayley and Colin Brown have been the star players for Foxdale and Travellers respectively and their match was a close affair with Bayley just taking the honours 13/11 11/9 11/9 on his way to an impressive hat-trick.
Brown kept his team in with a chance by defeating Ruth Bailey 11/7 in the fifth and Rebecca Bayley in four. Rebecca struggled against the unorthodox Stu Douglas and was beaten 8/11 in the fifth game but she got the better of Steve Ellis-Pearson in three close games.
Ellis-Pearson and Ruth Bailey had a great game with the latter taking the first two, Ellis-Pearson then levelled at two games each but Bailey prevailed 11/6 in the decider. Ruth then overcame Stu Douglas 11/9 in the fourth and then joined Rebecca for a doubles victory over Brown and Ellis-Pearson 11/9 11/8 8/11 12/10 to make the final score 7-3 to Foxdale A.
