Queens B reign in Division Two

Hit’n’Hope  collected a useful win over Cat “E” by 9 sets to 1 in Division two  There were maximums for both  Rob Sedols and Dave Shaw in the victory. The best set of the evening was between Sedols (H’n’H) and Alec Downes (Cat “E”). Downes took the first games 12 pts to 10, with Sedols winning the second 11pts to 5, Downes took game three 11-9 before Sedols powered back to win the next two games both 11-7pts to secure the set.  Downes almost won the set with Shaw (H’n’H) before losing in four. He did secure a victory however over Ian Nixon (H’n’H).

New boys G Ward “E” had a great start to their campaign winning their first match by 7 sets to 3 against Cat “E”. Dave Richardson (GWE) was the star man winning his three. He was taken to five games by the evergreen Nigel Sharpe eventually winning the fifth game 11pts to 3. Young Callum Dale (GWE) also took all three of his games, whilst Richardson’s  daughter Alana  won one of her sets to make the final score CAT “E” 3 –GW”E” 7.

G Ward “C” overcame the G Ward “D” by 9 sets to 1, but not before the youngsters had put up quite a fight. Bob Pickersgill (GWC) was the match of the match with a fine maximum winning all three in straight games. Both Rob Webster and Chris Thomas were pushed in their matches by all three of the youngsters Ollie Wynne, Jack Dennis and Ben Bennett.

Currently Queens “B” lead the table with 17pts, GWC also have 17 closely followed by Hit’N’Hope on 15 and Barlestone “C” on 13.
