NJL ROUND 3

The third session of the British National League took place at Bristol Academy of Sport on Sunday 5th February 2017.

Our team this time was Jake Price, Matt Knight and Toby Dickens.

Unfortunately only 4 teams were present this session, as West Wilts and Cirencester were unable to field teams due to illness and local county championships.

I’m not sure how the organiser will sort this all out at the end, as West Wilts have now missed two sessions.

Our first match was against Table Tennis Daily and resulted in a 4-2 win.  One loss each for Matt and Toby, with Jake beating his opposing number one 13-11 in the fifth after going 2-0 down.

The second match was against Stroud which ended in a 5-1 win, Matt losing the one game to the Stroud number one.

The last match was against current table toppers Cleave and Claverham who we had beaten 4-2 last time.  The same result came again as we showed too much strength in depth.  The C&C Number one won their two games.

Well done to all three and in particular to Toby, who, playing in his first outing in this event won 5-6.  It was a shame that they could only play 3 matches, as I’m sure they would have continued to dominate.

Hereford have now closed the gap to one point from top of the table but Cleeve and Claverham have still played an extra game.
