This battle of the basement was settled, in the end, by St Georges fielding only 2 players. But it was touch and go until the end, with Chris Ward in fine form with a hat trick. It all looked different in the first game, Chris going 2-0 down to Alex Hamilton, who looked well in charge. Chris then took the next 3 sets with some fine backhand topspin shots, no consolation to Alex that the points total was 46-39 in his favour!

Ian Cooper took a long 5 set game against Gal-on winning the last 2 sets 7 and 8, so it was all down to the doubles to see if Crown could nail their first win, which Alex and Paul duly did in 5 sets, wearing down their opponents to ease home11-5 in the last, lifting Crown off the bottom.
