Start of April 2017 - Update

Start of April 2017 - League / Cup Update.

As the season nears its conclusion, whilst some of the 'ups' & 'downs' are looking clear, there are still a few matters awaiting the final few matches to settle them. Meanwhile, the Wren Cup / Plate are down to the finalists, with the four semi-finals now played, and it's all Flamstead and Adeyfield in the final four!

Division 1 sees the usual 'top two' in yet another close battle.  Crown & Sceptre 1st hold the slight advantage, although Adeyfield 1st could close to within very few points of them with their two games 'in hand', and the final encounter between the pair will undoubtedly finally settle things, with Adeyfield 1st probably needing a biggish win to snatch the title.  It's all quite close in mid table, with Flamstead 1st, Crown & Sceptre A and Adeyfield A all closely bunched, leaving Northchurch 1st and Row battling to avoid the drop.  With only one team expected to go down, Northchurch hold a slender advantage, but Row have a couple of games 'in hand', so the final encounter between them, will, likely, prove the decider.

Division 2 has been fairly close most of the season, although Crown & Sceptre B and Flamstead A have gently eased ahead of the others, although not without some tough battles along the way.  C&S B hold a nine point advantage, but Flamstead A have two extra games to play, so yet again, the match between them should settle the one/two order. If one or both should falter, though, the trio of St. George's 1st, Crown & Sceptre C and McAlpine could pounce and grap the second runners-up spot. Adeyfield B are not far behind those three, whilst the two teams to face relegation will be St. George's A and Flamstead B.

Division 3 still has some interest left, too, although Northchurch A definitely have a good advantage going into the final matches, with Flamstead C having moved up the table, to edge past Highfield as the most likely runners-up, but still a few crunch matches left until things are decided.  Kings Langley CC, Northchurch B and Adeyfield C are not too far behind, and positions could change in the coming few weeks, whilst Crown & Sceptre D remain as keen as mustard, but remain the "strongest team in the League" !

As mentioned in the introduction, the Wren Cup / Wren Plate finalist are confirmed. In the Wren Plate, it will be Adeyfield C to take on Flamstead B, whilst Adeyfield 1st have made yet another Wren Cup final, and will play Flamstead C.
