MATCH REPORT - WEEK 1 - OCTOBER 6TH 2021

Season 2021-22 - Match Report Week1

 

Premier  Division

TT Legend made a great start to the new table tennis season defeating Hang Em high 7-2. For legend veteran Andy Walker a treble including two tough five setters against Michael Bridger and Ben Worley. Man of the match Brandon Bennett won three in straight sets and third player Charlie Usher defeated Jim Skinner. For Hang Em High Michael Bridger won one but lost two in five sets. Ben Worley also won one. Third player Jim Skinner found legend’s top team a bit strong.

Crawley Community with new team Brett Holt, Minesh Agnihotri and Christophe Dupuis went down 9-0 to a strong Horsham Spinners lineup of Rory Scott, Lynne Trussell and after more than a decade away, returning ex league champion, Gary Wilson.

Ping Panthers team Steve Ive, Sasha O’Halloran and Jeff Triggs also went down 9-0 to a very strong Divergents team of Emma Torkington, Sally Hughes and Daniel Pound all with trebles.

Final premier match Dynamos V Crawley Knights ended with a 6-3 win for Dynamos a treble for Matthew Caddy, two for Richard Caddy and one for Richard Cosens. Opposition Crawley Knights, wins came from Fawzi Yousif (2) and Josef Krakovsky (1) 

The premier this year is looking as strong as it has ever been and it is difficult to pick a winner for the league champion  


Conference Division

Top team this week are King Pongs who defeated Thunderbolts 8-1. For King Pongs Paul Brinkhurst and Nikita Kalyazin, it was three apiece with Darius Mayhew grabbing two. For Thunderbolts David Metcalfe was the sole winner in defeating Darius Mayhew.

X Men came away 6-3 winners over Blade Runners. Robert Hoare started the season with a convincing treble, two wins for Peter Caddy and one win for newcomer Matthew Chapman.

New Avengers in a close exciting match with Magiks came away 5-4 winners. Shared spoils for New Avengers with two apiece for Luke Goff and Prevesh Ramnath with one for Robert Goff. 

For Magiks veteran Mel Sims was in fine form with the only treble of the match, Alistair Blue won one while Senior lady veteran Muriel Brewer fought well against a strong team to no avail.

Final match saw Pingwins defeat Spinderella’s 7-2. For Pingwins three apiece for Dan and David Polhill plus one for Rupert Browning. For Spinderella’s it was one apiece for Both Kate Bridger and Viv Cole.

Again as with the Premier the Conference division is very strong with many new and regular players all with new challenges to tackle
