Match Report - Week 12 - January 31st 2018
Premier Division

Hang Em Hi proved too strong for Game Changers defeating them 9-1 to go top of the premier by one point. Trebles for Andrew Sharland and Graham Carter with two for Michael Bridger. Andrew and Graham defeated Game Changers Angus Ogg and Jim Skinner in the doubles. The lone winner for Game Changers was Tomas Pomej who defeated Michael Bridger 13-11 in the fourth set.

Game of the week saw Assassins second in the table and Ping Panthers third result in a thrilling 6-4 win for Assassins. No player in either team managed a treble. For the all junior Assassins team it was two wins for Keigo Burnham  plus two wins for Charlie Hough who in beating Marc Burman became the only player to have defeated league champion Marc Burman twice. An important win for third player Ben Worley over Alan Stone left the outcome of a win or a draw for Assassins on the final doubles game. In a tense close game Keigo and Charlie defeated Marc Burman and John Strang 11-6 in the fifth set.
For Ping Panthers it was two wins apiece for Marc Burman and John Strang.

The third premier match saw another thriller resulting in a five games all between Bullets and Dynamos. For Bullets .A match saving treble from David Champneys one from John Burnham plus David and John defeating Dynamos Richard Caddy and Richard Cosens in the doubles. For Dynamos Two good wins for Richard Cosens and Richard Caddy plus one for Matthew Caddy secured the draw.


Division One

With the postponement of the match between Paddlers and Spin Masters and Dark Horses having a bye only the following two matches were played this week.

Leaders St Andrews continue their winning streak in defeating Lindfield Thunderbolts 8-2 with trebles for Terry Dean and Stuart Vincent. This pairing also defeated Thunderbolts Jim Griffin and Andy Steel in the doubles. Third player Darius Mayhew won one to help his team to maximum points.
For Thunderbolts one apiece for Jim Griffin and Andy Steel.

A surprisingly easy 9-1 win for X Men over Bashers.
For the X Men team it was three apiece for Tom Christophersen and Peter Caddy with Peter Dunsby chipping in with two. In the doubles Tom Christophersen and Peter Caddy defeated Patrick and Oliver Neil in the fourth set. The lone win for Bashers came from Oliver Neil.


Division Two

Leaders Magiks dropped a point in a 6-4 win against a two man Pingwins team who with a full team may have been the first to defeat the undefeated Magiks. For Magiks Tony Turk one win and a walkover, Kevin Deacon one win and a walkover and for Alistair Blue one walkover. Tony Turk and Kevin Deacon took the doubles over Adam Wiseman and Paul Lewis to win the match. For Adam Wiseman a well won treble over the leading players in division two and a single win for Paul Lewis.

Burning Rubber continue with their attacking style this week defeating Dangermen 9-1 with three singles apiece for Steve Lee, Blake Davies and Gavin Pitts with the doubles also going to Burning Rubber. The saving grace for Dangermen was a win for Colin Cooper over Gavin Pitts 14-12 in the fifth set.

Cutting Edge came away 8-2 winners over Smashing Pumpkins.
David Polhill the only player with a treble his team mates Freddie and Oscar Wiseman both grabbed a pair with the Wiseman brothers also winning the doubles over Peter Vincent and Prevesh Ramnath . For Cutting Edge Oliver Howard in fine form had wins over both Freddie and Oscar Wiseman.

A five all draw for Swifts over a two man Blade Runners team gave Alanna Blain for Swifts two wins and a walkover and Georgie Hough and Emily Dunsby a walkover each.

For Blade Runners Keith Johnson and Ron Bailham both won two plus the doubles.
