In the Hastings & District Table Tennis League, attention switched to Division Two where leaders Hastings Academy E were held 5-5 by a scratch Bexhill F side boosted by the inclusion of Tina Beaney, who was unbeaten. Andy Furnival and Terry Dean both won two for Academy who will regret losing the doubles to Beaney and Trevor Towner who came from 0-2 down to win 12-10 in the decider.

Tackleway C took the chance to take over the top spot with an emphatic 9-1 win over Tackleway D and now lead Academy E by a point. Maximums from Adrian Goodrum and Mike Charter and two wins for Kevin Rowe saw Tackleway home.

Third placed Bexhill G (John Bradbury, Chris Hack, Andy Panayi) consolidated their position with a 10-0 whitewash of Hollington B.

Academy H and Monarchs A shared the points in a 5-5 draw with Bob Lowe unbeaten for Monarchs and Roger Smith and Jamie Martin winning twice each for Academy.

The closest match in Division One saw Bexhill B pick up an unexpected point against a depleted Academy B who won 7-3 with maximums for Dave Butler and James Winchester.

Hollington A won 8-2 at Tackleway A where Shaun Godfrey was unbeaten and Ron Davenport and Kevin Barry both won two for the winners while Roy Funnell won twice for Tackleway. The match was closer than the final score indicates with Hollington winning eight of the ten games which went to deuce.

Bexhill A (Martin Kapusta, Martin Kellaway, Anthony Sidoli) returned to winning ways with a 10-0 defeat of Bexhill D. The A side led 7-0 without dropping a game before a late fight back saw George Reidy take Kelloway the distance and Graham Primett did the same with Sidoli.

The two leaders in Division Three both had big wins with Monarchs B (Andrew Edwards, Peter Harding, Dave Turnbull) beating Tackleway G 10-0.

Bexhill I almost matched this with a 9-1 defeat of Nalgo B in which Jim Leppard and George Reidy were unbeaten and Jason Ward won two.

Monarchs lead by two points but Bexhill have a game in hand.
