Welcome to the 2019 Hastings Closed Championships. The draw is attached which also lists the start times of your groups. The hall will be open for practice from 8.30am but please be ready for a prompt start at 9am. There has been a large and very strong entry of 41 players and with some playing in four events and many in three it is going to be a busy day. Although the group start times are listed these will be brought forward slightly if possible so be ready to play up to half an hour before the stated time, except for the 9am matches.
In those groups which have knock out rounds the top two in each of those events will go through into the next stage of the competition. The round robin events are played to a conclusion. Provided the schedule goes according to plan the Men's and Women's Singles will be staged together at around 3-3.30pm and these will be followed by the Men's Doubles groups and later stages of the Division 2 Championships.
A reminder that you are required to umpire at least one knock out match in each event you play in.
We welcome four juniors this year and although the entry in the junior event isn't huge we hope you enjoy your day and you are welcome to stay and practice on any spare tables after your matches have finished or watch some of the senior players.
If anyone is unable to attend could they email me before the day, or, phone on 07828 550264 on the day.
My thanks go to Jamie Martin for helping with the draw.
I look forward to seeing you all on Saturday for a good day's table tennis.
