After two rounds of matches in the Hastings & District Table Tennis League, only three teams are 100% in Division One.

Champions Hollington Academy A beat a weakened Bexhill C 9-1 with Paul Barry and Nathan Darby unbeaten and Ryan Heselden winning two. Pete Robinson won Bexhill’s consolation, coming from 0-2 down to beat Heselden 13-11 in the decider.

Heselden also let slip a 2-0 lead against Andy Chapman but held on to win 11-9 in the fifth.

Bexhill A are joint leaders after beating Hollington Academy B 10-0 with Rob Warner, Ryan Warner and David Rayment unbeaten. Academy’s Rose Rainton aggravated an injury and was forced to concede two of her sets while Tony Catt was unlucky not to get on the scoresheet.

Saints A have also made a perfect start and maximums from Dave Butler and Jamie Martin and two from John Wond saw them to a 9-1 win over Hollington Academy D.

Some good contests in Division Two included Tigers A who, from 3-3 against Nalgo A, took control to win 7-3 with Dave Mitchell unbeaten and  two wins each for Chris Woods and Roger Smith. Nalgo’s Paul Hyland, top player in this Division last year picked up two for the losers.

Saints B could only draw 5-5 at Bexhill H, after going 4-2 down, with a fine maximum from Bexhill’s Tina Beaney. Ron Davenport and Mick Hart won two apiece for Saints.

Bexhill G and Tackleway E drew 5-5 after a long hard struggle as Brian Beaney and John Bradbury (Bexhill) and Mike Charter and Zac Allen (Tackleway) all won twice.

Hollington A lead the Division after beating Hollington B 8-2 with Shaun Godfrey and Kevin Barry unbeaten.

In Division Three, Keith Lindsay’s maximum secured a 5-5 draw for Tackleway G

against Tackleway F who had two wins each from debutants Kyle Gray and Ali Rastgoye.

Bryan Tichband and Andy Holmes were unbeaten for Tigers B in an 8-2 win over Hollington E.

Willett & Phillips lead the table after beating Monarchs B 6-4 with three wins for Phil Bailey and two for Sue Clarke. Peter Harding won twice for Monarchs.
