Hollington Academy C have struggled to field a team so far in the Hastings & District Table Tennis League Division One but have signed thirteen-year-old Arthur Bracken as cover. There was to be no fairy tale ending as Bracken made his debut against league leaders Saints A who had Dave Butler and James Winchester unbeaten in an

8-2 win, but the youngster had an excellent win over John Wond from 0-2 down, in his first ever encounter with a hard bat.

Hollington Academy B have made a stuttering start to the season but they led Bexhill B 5-1 before edging home 6-4 with a maximum from Tony Catt and two from Rose Rainton. John Ellis won two for the losers, including a fine win over Rainton.

Andy Chapman and John Wilson were unbeaten for Bexhill C as they beat Bexhill D 7-3.

In Division Two, Monarchs A and Tigers A fought out a 5-5 draw with Bob Lowe getting a maximum for Monarchs and Chris Woods winning two for Tigers.

Most of the sets were clear cut but Tigers won both which went the distance, including a doubles win at 15-13 in the fifth.
