After two weeks of play in the Hastings & District Junior Table Tennis League Division One only two teams remain unbeaten.

One of these is Lucky Edges who started with maximums for Sacha Ward and Timothy Allen in a 4-1 defeat of Fiery Balls in an early candidate for match of the season. Ryan Humphreys of Fiery Balls lost his two singles at deuce in the deciding game and Megan White was just as close with Allen.

Lucky Edges went on to beat TT Demons 5-0 with Ward and Allen not dropping a game.

Equally impressive have been Unbelievable Tekkers, with Emily Koester, making her Hastings Junior League debut, conceding only a handful of points in a 3-2 win over TT Demons. Demons had a win apiece for Kelsey Burgess and Ciaran Potter.

Tekkers won this game without Josh Fraser, but he joined Koester for the 4-1 win over Balls of Fury when both players won both their singles. BoF put up great resistance after going 0-2 down with Holli Ferguson taking Koester the distance and Kai Potter losing to Fraser 12-10, 18-20, 4-11.

Balls of Fury had started the season well with 4-1 defeat of Awesome Blaze in which Kai Potter was unbeaten.

Fiery Balls were able to bring in Tom Nguen against Bangers & Smash and Nguen’s two wins helped them to a 3-2 victory which included a win for him over Tristan Hyland. Both players have Senior League experience.

Hyland was unbeaten as Bangers & Smash beat The Swervers 3-2..

The Swervers join TT Demons at the foot of the table after going down 0-5 to Awesome Blaze for whom Reece Lincoln and Henry Hemmett were unbeaten.
