Hollington Academy B booked their place in the final of the Watts Cup, the senior Hastings & District Table Tennis knock out competition, with a 5-4 semi-final defeat of Bexhill D.

Tony Catt won both his singles for Academy including a critical five-game defeat of John Wilson. Graham Gillett won twice for Bexhill, but with the match standing 4-4, Catt and Rose Rainton won the deciding doubles 3-0.

In Division One, champions Hollington Academy A beat Bexhill G 8-2 with Paul Barry and Basher Obeyed unbeaten and Andy Furnival winning two. Tackleway C now need a 6-4 win or better against Academy B to push Bexhill G into a relegation spot and secure their own place.

A 6-4 win for Monarchs A in Division Two over Bexhill H was not enough to save Monarchs from relegation but just enough to secure the place of Bexhill H. Alison Jordan, Andrew Edwards (Monarchs) and Chris Hack and Dan Starnes (Bexhill) all won two.

Hollington A beat Tigers A 9-1 with three wins for Shaun Godfrey and Neil Stapley and two for Steph Sargeant.

Godfrey recorded another maximum against Bexhill D but was unable to prevent a 6-4 win for Bexhill with two wins each for John Bradbury and Brian Beaney.
