Graham Gillett and John Wilson were unbeaten for Bexhill C as they coasted to a 9-1 win at Tackleway B in Division One of the Hastings & District Table Tennis League.

Ryan Warner’s recuperation from injury continued as he picked up two wins, playing as a reserve.

Twenty-four hours later, Warner went one better, with three wins for second-placed Bexhill A in their 10-0 demolition of Bexhill B, in which Martin Kellaway and David Rayment were also unbeaten.

This made no impression on leaders Hollington Academy A, who beat Bexhill G by the same score. The Academics showed the strength of their squad, calling in British Women’s League player Chelsea Furnival alongside Nathan Darby and Basher Obeyed.

Bexhill E’s lead in Division Two was short-lived, as they went down 8-2 at Tackleway E, who had maximums from Dave Wilson and Peter Wilson. The match was much closer than the score reflects, with Peter Wilson winning twice at 11-9 in the fifth.

Tigers A are back on top after beating Hollington Academy D 9-1 with three wins for Dave Mitchell and Chris Woods and two for Roger Smith.

Tackleway D edged past Hollington A 6-4 when Shaun Godfrey’s maximum was effectively nullified by two wins each from Owen Hatter and Alan Blackman.

Bexhill H came from 3-5 down to take a share of the spoils at 5-5 against Monarchs A. Bexhill’s Alan Chumbley won three and Chris Hack two, while Andrew Edwards won twice for Monarchs.

Trevor Towner’s maximum and two from Brian Beaney helped Bexhill D to a 7-3 win over Bexhill F, for whom Harvey Webb won twice.

In Division Three, junior Zac Allen of Tackleway G is unbeaten and his maximum helped his side gain a 5-5 draw against Saints C, who had two wins each for Jo Clarke and Paulette Clarke.

Leaders Bexhill I had to come from 3-4 down to beat Monarchs B 6-4 with Malcolm Hilton unbeaten and two for Jim Leppard, while Peter Harding won two for Monarchs.

Kevin Eastman, Doug Bick and Steve Milton all won three as Tackleway F won 10-0 at Hollington C.
