With a handful of matches left to play in the Hastings & District Junior Table Tennis League, both Divisions provided a clash between the top two teams.

In Division Two, leaders Tabletoppers came back from their shock defeat to The Smashers to hammer nearest rivals Double Trouble 5-0 to live up to their name and take the title. Holli and Georgia Ferguson were in imperious form after Holli survived a three-game opening tussle with Kai Potter and did not drop another game.

Double Trouble have a game in hand, with two to play but Tabletoppers’ lead is four points and they have a superior sets difference.

Division One leaders Unbelievable Tekkers met second placed Bangers & Smash with the Bangers coming out on top 3-2, after another maximum for Zachary Allen. The key win for Bangers came in the fourth singles when Charlie Kenward beat Jack Bounsall in three games. The Tekkers took the doubles 11-9 in the third but by then it was all over.

Bangers & Smash, with one to play, lead Tekkers, who have two to play, by two points. The title should be decided by sets difference, but Bangers & Smash lead in this respect and a win over Lucky Edges will win the league.

At the foot of the table, TT Lads gained their first win, beating Lucky Edges 4-1 with Noah Willett unbeaten and a good win for Louis Aubinet.

Awesome Blaze beat Fiery Balls 4-1 after two wins each for Hanza Husain and Simona Dyulgerova, whose brace included a three-game defeat of her Second Division team-mate Sacha Ward.
