Going into the last few weeks of the season in the Hastings & District Junior Table Tennis League and both Divisions could go down to the wire.

Division One leaders Unbelievable Tekkers were almost knocked off their perch by Awesome Blaze before edging home to another 3-2 win. Hanza Hussain was unbeaten for the Blaze with both sets going the distance, while Jack Bounsall and Joe Ackerly won one each for the leaders. Bounsall and Ackerly once again needed the doubles for the win and were fully extended by Hussain and Maria Leonard before winning 11-3, 11-13, 11-8.

The Tekkers had a more comfortable 4-1 win over TT Lads, when Ackerly recorded a maximum.

Second placed Bangers & Smash kept up the pressure although being taken to 3-2 by TT Demons. Zachary Allen maintained his 100% record before partnering Charlie Kenward to a tight doubles win at 7-11, 11-9, 11-7.

Allen was also unbeaten in the 4-1 win over Balls of Fury, which included a good win over Tristan Hyland which was only his second loss of the season, both at the hands of Allen.

Hyland returned to form with two wins in the 3-2 defeat of Lucky Edges including a good win over Jonah Davies 11-9 in the decider. Kelsey Burgess extended Hyland to 11-9 in the third after beating Leo Marquesen.

Fiery Balls beat TT Lads 3-2 with Sam Ward unbeaten and Sacha Ward winning once before Louis Aubinet and Noah Willett took the doubles for TT Lads.

In Division Two, third-placed The Smashers set up a tense climax as they beat league leaders Tabletoppers 3-2, which was their first defeat, with Sacha Ward unbeaten and one win for Simona Dyulgerova. Holli Ferguson won one for the leaders, who also took the doubles.

Double Trouble closed the gap on the leaders with an emphatic 5-0 defeat of Balls of Steel with two wins each for Kai and Ciaran Potter.

With two matches to play, Tabletoppers lead Double Trouble by two points but DT have a game in hand.  As the two are due to meet, this will almost certainly decide the championship.
