In the Hastings & District Table Tennis League, Division 2 leaders at the  Christmas break are unbeaten Bexhill G who have won seven and drawn two of their matches.

Bexhill’s Kevin McEwan has yet to lose and with sixteen-year-old Ryan Heselden and Cameron Jones averaging 74% and 70% respectively they will prove hard to catch.

Tackleway D, led by Owen Hatter and Alan Blackman, are four points adrift but have played one more game than all their rivals.

Tackleway C, relegated from Division One last season, occupy third place and will still retain hopes of regaining elite status.

The three leaders, coming as they do from the League’s two largest clubs, are all operating with a three-man squad, drawing from a comparatively large pool of eligible reserves when necessary, which may favour  Bexhill.

Hollington A led the table after 5 weeks and are currently fourth. They have one of the top players in this Division in Shaun Godfrey with three defeats to date plus another in Neil Stapley, normally a reserve, who is unbeaten in his four matches.

The youngsters of Hollington B sit at the foot of the table, three points behind Saints C while NALGO A and Bexhillians F have a ten point buffer between themselves and the relegation zone.

Division 3 is shaping up to be very competitive.  Bexhillians H (Baz and Dominic Goodson and Alan Chumbley) currently lead but have played one game more than the other contenders.

Monarchs, led by Alison Jordan and Andrew Edwards, look well placed in second but third-placed Tackleway F, for whom Danny Kildea is unbeaten, have left themselves a lot to do.

Hollington Academy D, who have postponed a number of games, could still get back in the mix with the players they have, but will require a change of luck regarding injury and availability.

The reserve players issue could be a key factor in this Division, with Monarchs surviving on three registered players and Bexhill currently with Dom Goodson injured.

The foot of Division Three is also competitive with NALGO B bottom, having lost all their games, but still in touch with Hollington D and Saints D.
