Hollington A dropped what may prove a crucial point in Division One of the Hastings & District Table Tennis League when they beat  Tigers A 7-3 with Andy Furnival unbeaten and 2 wins for Basher Obeyed. With both teams forced to call up a 2nd Division player, Rama Patel excelled for Tigers with 2 wins.

Bexhill C had the narrowest of 6-4 wins over Saints C, due mainly to Graham Gillett’s unbeaten performance. John Wond and Ron Davenport both won 2 for Saints, with Davenport’s wins both coming at 11-9 in the 5th set.

In Division 2, Tigers B have quietly moved themselves in touch with the leaders after beating Monarchs 9-1. Chris Woods and Roger Smith won 3 and Rama Patel two, with Smith’s defeat of Andrew Edwards coming at 17-15 in the 5th.

Leaders Tackleway C also won 9-1, against Tackleway D, with maximums from James Gorridge and Andy Brown and 2 wins from Danny Rickaby in a match which was more of a contest than the end result suggests.

Willett & Phillips beat Saints F 7-3 in Division 3, with Phil Bailey unbeaten and Sue Clarke winning 2, as did Neil Pankhurst for the losers. Pankhurst’s loss to Bailey was his first defeat since November.

Second placed Bexhill F dropped a point in their 7-3 win against Bexhill G. No player dominated the match with Barry Goodson, Diddley Goodson and Diane Webb (F) and Malcolm Glover (G) all winning twice.
