The match of the week in the Hastings & District Table Tennis League Division One saw Bexhill C and Hollington B contest a 5-5 draw. Graham Gillett was unbeaten for Bexhill while Rose Rainton and Lisa Standen won 2 apiece for Hollington.
The other fixtures in the top Division had a distinctly one-sided look, with Saints A’s 8-2 dismissal of Tigers A one of the closer matches. Ritchie Venner and Dave Butler recorded maximums for Saints.
Bexhill A beat Tackleway B 9-1 with 3 wins each for Rob Warner and Keith Barber and 2 for Bob Lowe.
In Division 2, Bexhill E are the new leaders after their 7-3 win at Hollington D where Brian Beaney, Cameron Jones and John Bradbury won 2 games each. Shaun Godfrey’s fine maximum for Hollington included Beaney’s first loss of the season.
Bexhill D are still in contention after beating Monarchs 8-2 with Paul Welford unbeaten and Ryan Warner and Konrad Pieterse both winning 2. In a rare application of Rule 19(c), Warner was forced to concede his last match as he was also playing for Bexhill C on an adjacent table and could not complete in the 5 minutes allowed.
Tackleway C and Saints D both dropped crucial points as they drew 5-5 with Alan Blackman gaining a valuable maximum for Saints.
Division 3 leaders Saints E maintained their grip with an 8-2 defeat of Hollington H.
Claire Bridges was again unbeaten, with support coming from Derek Brown and Pete Lambert
