Bexhill A will spend the Christmas break in top spot in the Hastings & District Table Tennis League Division One after dismissing Saints B 10-0 with 3 wins apiece for Lewis Mayhew, Bob Lowe and Keith Barber.

Hollington A slipped to 3 points adrift when a 7-3 win over Hollington B cost them a point. Paul Barry was unbeaten for the winners, with Stacey Furnival (A) and Rose Rainton (B) both winning 2, with Furnival’s wins both coming at 11-9 in the 5th set.

Saints A are still in touch after maximums from Dave Butler and James Winchester saw them through 7-3 against Tackleway B.

With no player unbeaten in the match, 2nd Division Tackleway C’s teamwork saw them through 7-3 against Tigers B with 2 wins each for Danny Rickaby, James Gorridge and Kevin Rowe. Chris Woods won 2 for Tigers and Rama Patel stopped Rickaby’s maximum with a 5-set win.

Saints D and Bexhill D drew 5-5 with Bexhill’s Brian Beaney unbeaten and Alan Blackman and Paulette Clarke winning 2 for Saints.

In Division 3, Bryan Tichband’s maximum was not enough to secure Tigers C a share of the points against Bexhill F who ended 6-4 winners, with 2 wins for Roger Gillett and Barry Goodson.

Tigers D won 9-1 at Hollington G with Stuart Pattenden and Phil Talbot unbeaten and 2 wins from Andy Holmes.
