Regrettably the League announce that Elsie Smith has sadly now passed away (the League lost Vice-president George Smith back in February 2014). Among those that remember them Neil Brierley states that she was a lovely lady, and Fran Woolgar and the rest of the committee express condolences to daughters Elaine and her sister. From Ray Newell: The first tournament week is 7th November. And on the Monday night will be played the Vets and Over 60's open to all who qualify. The Restricted (1st and 2nd divisions only) and the Hope trophy (Division 2 only) will be played on the Wednesday. Attached to the fuller news item (click heading) is an entry form needed back by Saturday 5th November.
Regrettably the League announce that Vice-president Freda Stedman has passed away. Her funeral will be at the Eastbourne Crematorium on 14 September at 2.15pm. She was the valued Chairperson of the League for some years. Her son states she loved Table Tennis and that must have kept her fit and make it to age 91. He knows she would wish to be remembered to her friends in Harlow League. Click heading for slightly fuller item.
Provisionally the season start is week commencing Monday 19th September. League remains 3 divisions, but with 3 teams fewer, it will be on an 8 team fixture chart, with each other team in division played 3 times, and take 3 weeks longer. For more information on weeks click on heading.
