Div 1 round-up - Sharp start for Shooters
Sharpshooters got their season off to a flying start with an 8-1 win over Central.

On a bye week in the opening round, they made up for lost time with an emphatic win over a side that had won 7-2 the previous week.

Jo Keighley and Nicholas Miller bagged trebles, both beating Djordje Cupac in five ends. Cupac notched his side's only set with victory over Stefan Arak, who won his other two sets.

Hermits got their season up and running with a 6-3 win over Dicko's Disciples.

Drafting in Halifax champion Ben Fillingham and last year's finalist, Richard Aitken, the duo dispatched of the previously unbeaten Alex Shaw and Jake Clarke as well as Paul King, a consistent top-end performer in the Oldham league.

The trio of Disciples all picked up one each.

It was a first win of the season for Woodfield Park too as they defeated Off Centre 6-3.

Shaun Ellis' return to the side brought a maximum, including victory over Paul Bryant, whose impressive start in Halifax continued with two wins, including one over Russell Senior.

Senior would bag a brace and Keith Skarz one, with Bob Underwood notching off another victory as he defeated Skarz.

Barbarians made amends for an opening-round whitewash with a 6-3 win over Acapulco.

Fred Yeung, Geoff Dunne and Jonathan Taylor all won two each, with Matthew Shaw extending his winning start to six from six, though he was given an almighty scare by Dunne, who was leading for the majority of the fifth end.
