Cwmbran Aztecs still lead Division One of the Eastern Valley Table Tennis League following the latest round matches played this week at Cwmbran Stadium. The Aztecs defeated Cwmbran Preachers 24-12 with Tony Collins picking up the player of the match with 3 wins. He was well supported by Mark Edmunds, also with 3 wins and Colin Price with 1 win. For the Preachers, missing their number one player Dave Lloyd, Claire Flannagan and guest player John Jones collected a win each.

Blaenavon Aces remain in second place following their 23-14 win over Cardiff Nomads. Player of the match was the Aces' Jon Allen with 3 wins and he was well supported by Ben Allen, also with 3 wins. For the Nomads Peter Gordon, Geoff Strangeway and guest player Jack Fletcher picked up a win each.

The final match in Division One saw Cwmbran Tigers beat North Gwent Cougars 24-7 with the Tigers' Jeraze Dhanboora picking up the player of the match award with 3 wins. Dhanboora was well supported by Michal Luckanic, also with 3 wins and Roshan Rai with 2 wins. For the Cougars Michal Policht picked up his teams' only success.

In Division Two, Cwmbran Eccentrics suffered their first defeat of the season in losing to Cwmbran Lions 15-19. Despite this setback the Eccentrics went top of the Division. Player of the match was the Lions' Nigel Gore with 3 wins and he was well supported by guest player Will Smith-Haddon with 2 wins and John Williams who had a good win over John Thomas. For the Eccentrics John Thomas, Ian Shipley and Lincoln Alford had 1 win each.

Whilst the top three sides, Eccentrics, Cwmbran Dynamos and the Lions continue their battle for the title, the battle for fourth place is equally tight. Currently in fourth place, having played a games more, are Cwmbran Fellows following their close 18-14 win over one of their rival, Cwmbran Devils. Player of the match was the Fellows' Wayne Ford with 3 wins and he was well supported by guest player, Damian Luckanec with 2 wins. For the Devils there were 2 wins for Colin Scott and 1 win each for Finlay McNeil and Glenda Prytherch.

Cwmbran Panthers edged closer to fourth spot following their 25-7 win over North Gwent Terriers.  Player of the match was the Panthers' Yuri Cherkasenko with 3 wins and he was well supported by Howard Gaut, also with 3 wins and Mick Mellor with 2 wins.
