Match Night Questionnaire

The committee were asked to look into the issue of junior players and the fact that there were a few not playing in the league. We therefore decided to send out this questionnaire to get some feedback from members and to sound out your views. The conclusions from your results are:

  • Most members are fairly happy with the structure of the league
  • The majority of members do not want a single venue or to change to 2 player teams
  • Members are aware that match evenings can end late on occasion

We have discussed the results at our recent committee meeting and our conclusions are:

  • We will not be proposing a change to the current league match structure
  • If juniors are playing then try to be flexible as far as order of play in the evening. Please be obliging if a junior wishes to play their games first.
  • Try to cut down if needed the warm up times and tea breaks if juniors are playing
  • Communicate with other team captains if you want to alter the order of play on an evening.

There were a lot of ideas suggested by members in the questionnaire. The committee will store these for future use but the majority would involve a lot more manpower!

Playing from one venue would destroy the current club structure and generally decrease the opportunities of playing table tennis in Gloucester

Playing from one venue would reinvigorate club structure providing more opportunities for practice and/or social play
