Con Club C ensured their runners up spot in Div 2 with this draw v YMCA B but the star of the night was YM's Martyn Capper, who not only won all three of his singles but was the first player to inflict a defeat on Nick Bakewell. Nick did however win his other two matches as did Harry Garside for YM. The evening's entertainment was decided by a closely fought doubles which Nick and Tony emerged as winners in five sets v Harry and Peter.
