I should imagine the pubs were all closed when this match finished but I'll let Alan tell the story. Another five points for Strines Knights as they were held to a draw by St Square D. A very close match with six games going to five sets, three in favour of Strines and two for the Square. Dave Clark was in excellent form winning all three of his games. Roger Etchells beat James for the Knights other singles victory and he was unlucky to lose a five setter against Mark. All of Ken's games went to five sets and he was unfortunate to lose every one. It all came down to the doubles and Strines had to win to claim the draw they were sure they deserved. Alan Darnell came off the subs bench to partner Dave Clark and things didn't look good as they went two sets down to Mark and Thomas. They hung in though and managed to take the next two sets and set up a cliff hanging fifth, which they just managed to take 11-9 and earned the draw. Pretty sure the milkman was on his way when they made their way home!
