Lions B maintained their single point lead at the top of the first division following a hard fought 6-4 win over their C side this week. With Olly Langlois absent from proceedings, current Men's Singles Island Champion Joshua Butler led the way for the leaders, contributing to 4 of the 6 rubbers. He comfortably beat the C side's Division 2 junior reserve Luke Bichard in straight games and came through in 4 against Paul Hainsworth, having dropped the 2nd. His toughest test came during the final match of the night against Liam Robilliard. Robilliard was playing some top quality table tennis and it led to him holding a 2-1 lead. Butler dug deep and managed to navigate the 4th and 5th ends to ensure his side obtained the 2 points. Earlier in the fixture he teamed up with Ryan Bichard to overcome Robilliard and Hainsworth in a 4 game doubles win. Bichard himself also won a pivotal encounter against younger brother Luke. Luke took the first end of their encounter, but Ryan held his nerve in the gritty encounter and came through in 4. The final win for the victors came via the reserve in for Langlois, Matt Stubbington, who overcame Bichard in straight games. Robilliard and Hainsworth both saw off the challenge of Stubbington in 4 games and also recorded wins over Bichard.

Lions A returned to full strength this week and this assisted them en route to a 6-4 win over Whistlers A. Despite the defeat, Garry Dodd remained unbeaten in singles competition with straight game wins over Phil Ogier, Ben Foss and Jez Powell. He also combined with Mark Pipet to clinch the doubles tie over Ogier and Foss in 4 games. Pipet came the closest to adding another win when he lost out in 4 to Foss and Powell, whilst Hunkin also lost a 4 set match against Powell.

Whistlers B earned their first win of the season and moved above their opposition in the process following a 6-4 win over their C side. Alice Loveridge spearheaded the triumph with singles victories over Joshua Stacey, Lawrence Stacey and reserve Ryan Gilson. She also combined with Chloe Le Tissier to win a crucial 5 sets doubles match over the Stacey twins. The remaining wins were obtained over Gilson by Le Tissier and Dawn Morgan.

Lions F and Lions D are the sole remaining teams to have won all of their matches thus far this season.

The F side head the way due to a superior games difference and they were comfortable 8-2 winners over another side yet to drop points prior to the encounter, St Pauls A. Junior Luke Bichard is showing his growing maturity this season and he navigated the challenges of Chas Elliott, Trevor Bourgaize and reserve Brian Le Cras for the loss of just the single game to Elliott. Jamie Ferbrache added wins over Bourgaize and Le Cras on top of pairing with Bichard to overcome Elliott and Bourgaize in a 4 game doubles win. 4th Division reserve Andy Ferbrache put the icing on the cake with wins over Le Cras and an excellent 5 game win over Elliott.

Lions D matched their F side's result due to their 8-2 win over Whistlers E. Andy Gill was the best performer in this fixture, coming away with singles wins over Ken Falla, Ryan Gilson and Charlotte Casey. Martin Sarre added wins over Gilson and Casey, but lost his 100% to Falla, who came through in 5. The Lions duo won the doubles clash in 4 games against the junior pairing of Gilson and Casey. Reserve Peter Powell contributed well with wins over Gilson and Casey, but lost to Falla in straight games.

Lions I already hold a 2 point advantage after just 3 fixtures. They earned this lead this week due to their 7-3 win over the previously unbeaten St Pauls B side. Andy Ferbrache and Sue Febrache finished the encounter with an unblemished singles record, each defeating John Wills, Brian Le Cras and Brandon Ferbrache. They then teamed up to win the doubles rubber over Wills and Le Cras in 4 games. Each of the St Pauls players picked up wins over Lions 5th Division reserve Jan Priest.

Lions L are now the outright leaders of the 5th division following an emphatic 9-1 win over Whistlers K. Graham Mallett and Derek Cave each the junior trio of Callum Gilson, Caden Brouard and Ben Sharp. They also paired to win the doubles over Brouard and Sharp in straight games. Janine Mallett added wins over Gilson and Sharp, however she was edged out Brouard in a close 4 setter.
