Division 2

Wallace House Troopers are making a late charge for the lead in Evesham & District Specsavers Division 2. Troopers beat current leaders Bengeworth Sharks 6-4 and 3rd placed Wyre Warriors 8-2. Troopers’ youngest player Ed Sommers has been the main inspiration behind recent results, with 6 wins from 6 played against some of the top players in the division. Sommers is currently 3rd in the division averages. Troopers are the only undefeated side in the division and can overtake Sharks with a series of strong wins from their matches in hand.

Littleton Dolphins have moved up to 4th place after beating Littleton Jackson Five 6-4 and holding 3rd placed Wyre Warriors to a draw. During the match against Warriors, Alistair Witheford showed his considerable progress this season in beating Michael Jones who is currently 2nd in the individual averages. It was a hard fought win in which Witheford had to show great character to come back from 2 sets down.

Littleton Bears beat Littleton Giants 7-4. Bears’ Paul Bruner won his 3 matches yet again and will certainly finish the season as the highest rated division 2 player.
