The new Evesham and District Table Tennis season got underway this week with 4 matches in Specsavers Division 1.
Bengeworth Red defeated Wyre Livewyres 8-2 with Bengeworth’s Jack Davis registering 3 wins.
Kington Blades also made a strong start with a 7-3 result over Littleton Clubs. Clubs’ John Taylor put up stiff resistance with 2 wins but the result was assured when Blades’ Alan Cotton defeated Taylor in 5 sets.
Newly promoted Littleton Cobras had a stern test against Littleton Positives, one of last season’s top sides. Positives’ Doug Payne and Rob Sinderberry both came away with 3 wins in an 8-2 victory. Cobras’ father and son team of Sean and Craig Witheford battled to a consolation win in the doubles.
Luke Moffat was man of the match for Wallace House Hussars in their 7-3 victory over Bengeworth Purple. Moffat dropped only one set all evening.
