After the second week of play in the Evesham & District Table Tennis League, Bengeworth Sharks look to be strong contenders in Specsavers Division 2.  Sharks’ Geoff Collings, Bob Bryant and Simon Bennett recorded a 10-0 defeat of Bengeworth Wolves and followed up with a 7-3 result against Littleton Panthers, this time with Howard Bentham stepping in for Bennett and also performing well. Only Panthers’ Rosie Phillpot offered resistance with 3 individual wins. Phillpot remains undefeated in the league so far.

Wallace House Troopers also made an impressive start, defeating Bengeworth Wolves and Bengeworth Green. Reigning Women’s champion Mandy Sylvester lined up for Troopers in their first fixture, and will surely be one of the main challengers in the Division 2 individual rankings.

Wyre Barbedwyre are showing an ability to grind out difficult victories. With two narrow 6-4 wins, they are the only other side in the division maintaining a 100% record. In both matches, Mike Moore finally secured the points via the doubles, first partnered by Joan Parfitt and then Eric Lane.
