Ely Table Tennis Club Winter Tournament

It was a great day of intense competition with just 11 players entered in the clubs Winter Tournament. The handicaps were close and legs being played up to 16 meant that there were some very tight games and little room for errors.

Winner of the Handicap Singles was Joseph Coppin who played exceptionally well all day and beat Simon Braschi in the final during the morning session.

Paired Doubles followed a buffet lunch and had players changing partners throughout the afternoon. Each player earning points for all their winning legs. The final winners, Neil Abram and Simon Braschi, beat Karen Byford and Josef Janicek.

Player of the Tournament for the second time was awarded to 14 year old Joseph Coppin who the committee decided showed the best attitude, enthusiasm and improvement during the days competition.

Everyone had an fun day with plenty of competition, food and a great atmosphere. Big thanks to Rob Pownall for organising yet another successful club tournament at Prickwillow.

The next club tournament will be held in the Summer of 2019.
