Division One of the Eastern Valley Table Tennis League continues to be dominated by Cwmbran Aztecs. In their latest match this week they beat Cardiff Nomads 27-8 with Tony Collins picking up the player of the match with 3 wins and he was well supported by Mark Edmunds and Andrew Ryder, also with maximum wins. For the Nomads, Dave Grounsell and Peter Gordon scored 3 team points each and guest player Iestyn Howells scored 2 points. Next week sees the Aztecs taking on the only other unbeaten team in Division One, Blaenavon Aces.
In second place in Division One are Cwmbran Preachers following their 22-10 win over Cwmbran Tigers. Player of the match was the Preachers' Dave Lloyd with maximum wins and he was well supported by Eric Turner and Claire Flannagan with 2 wins each. For the Tigers, Jeraze Dhanbhoora fought well for his 2 wins.
Third placed Blaenavon Aces defeated Cwmbran Blues 19-15, thanks to a player of the match performance from Jon Allen with 3 wins. He was well supported by Iestyn Howells with 2 wins and guest player Michal Policht with 1 win. For the Blues Jozef Sujanec picked up 2 wins and Guest player Sam Slatter 1 win.
In Division Two, Cwmbran Dynamos continue to lead the division and in their latest match beat a Cwmbran Fellows, who only had 2 players, 24-7. Player of the match was the Dynamos' Richard Lownsbrough with his maximum wins and he was well supported by Alex Jones and Will Smith-Haddon with 1 win each. For the Fellows, Wayne Ford picked up 2 wins.
Second place in the division is held by Cwmbran Lions who beat Cwmbran Panthers 26-7 in their latest match. Player of the match was the Lions' Nigel Gore with 3 wins and he was well supported by Haydn Skinner, also with 3 wins and John Williams with 2 wins. For the Panthers, Howard Gaut collected his team's only win.
In third place are Cwmbran Eccentrics, with a game in hand on the two teams above them. In their latest match the Eccentrics defeated Cwmbran Devils 25-5 with John Thomas picking up the player of the match with 3 wins. Thomas was well supported by Ian Shipley, also with 3 wins and Lincoln Alford with 2 wins. For the Devils, Colin Scott picked up his team's only success.
