Pat Archdale Team Handicap Cup Final
The final of the Pat Archdale Team Handicap was played between Cwmbran Aztecs and Cwmbran Fellows. As expected the margin of points handicap  was always going to be large when you had a match involving players from the top of Div. 1 (Aztecs) against players from the bottom end of Div. 2 (Fellows). However as is usual the players would not be aware of the actual team points handicap until the end of the match. This meant that all points were nervously played with big cheers for every point gained by the Fellows. After 4 matches the Aztecs appeared to have gained the upper hand until Glenda Prytherch  had a narrower margin of defeat than expected against Nigel Gore which seemed to have turned the tide. However, the Aztecs greater experience in the final couple of matches saw them through to victory by 297 points to 283, which included a points handicap of 196 awarded to the Fellows. Congratulations to the winning team of Tony Collins, Andrew Ryder and Nigel Gore and commiserations to the Fellows team of Glenda Prytherch, Stephen Flannagan and Alan Miskelly.
