18th NOVEMBER MATCH REPORT

Despite winning all his matches in a player of the match performance, Lee Thomas, could not prevent his Cwmbran Colts side going down 13-20 to the leaders of Div. One, Bristol Nomads. The only Nomads player to take a set off Thomas was Chris Price. Cwmbran Blues narrowed the gap on the leaders with an emphatic 25-8 win over YMCA. The Blues' Mark Farrow was player of the match with 3 wins but only just edged out his team mate, Roger Grech, who also recorded 3 wins.

The match of the day in Div. Two involved Cwmbran Panthers and Cwmbran Dynamos, who were 1st and 2nd respectively going into this match. The Dynamos drafted in young Louis Price to replace the unavailable Will Smith-Haddon and he produced the performance of the day to beat Mike Blatchford. It was a match of unexpected results with the Dynamos Alson Limbu losing to both Blatchford and Howard Gaut. The final outcome of the match came down to the last game between the Dynamos Alex Jones and Blatchford with the scores level at 16-16. The omens looked good for the Panthers when Blatchford won the opening set but Jones won the next 3 sets to secure a 19-17 win for the Dynamos. Despite the Dynamos winning the top of the table clash it is Blaenavon Aces who are top of Div. Two after showing no mercy on their fellow club members Blaenavon Bulldogs. The Aces players won all their matches with Mathew Pearce gaining the player of the match title in a 27-3 win. The other match in Div. Two was a much closer affair with Cwmbran Fellows, aided by a couple of loan players, beat Cwmbran Devils 18-14. It was one of the 'borrowed' players, Lincoln Alford, who was the player of the match with 3 wins.

Next week is a blank week in the fixture list with the only match being played is Blaenavon Bulldogs v Cwmbran Eccentrics, as a result of a postponement from earlier in the season.
