Energy v Desperadoes

Desperadoes with squad members missing were reduced to only Dennis Jennings and Nigel Duffin against an Energy team with Paul Henderson Bill McClennan and Edward Michaels. Nigel put in an MVP performance winning all his singles and Dennis also won 2 only losing to Paul, but they lost out in the doubles to give a very creditable 5-5 result.

Eagles v East Boldon C

Eagles had regulars Jack Pugh, Haydn Williamson and Luke Dumighan against experienced Bruce Davison, James Collar and youngster Adam Allsop. Adam was the most successful for East Boldon on the night winning two singles and taking the doubles with Bruce, but with Luke and Hadyn taking two games each and Jack Pugh putting in an MVP performance with 3 wins Eagles came away with an excellent 7-3 win.

Brandon V Bombers

Bombers are desperate to make up points after conceding a game and need every point available and turned out Dan Hutchinson, Ian McPherson and Max Duffin against the Brandon team of Paul Dale, Simon Knopf and John Spencer. The first game between Paul and Dan was very close with Dan edging it in the final end 11-9. Bombers then took the next 5 games giving them an unassailable lead of 6 but Simon hit back with two wins and Paul won 1 to give Brandon 3 points. Max took MVP with all three singles and the doubles with Dan, who chipped in with two wins and Ian with 1 to give the Bombers 7 points.

Aces v NECA C (Northumbria league)

Aces are storming away at the top of Division 2 in the Northumbria league and with their regular squad of Duncan Fraser, Ian McAllister and Jon Mason are looking for an unbeaten season. They were up against the NECA C side who included Kit Robinson, Terry Kwong and Robin Frances who has only dropped one game all season. Robin continued his run and won all his games but Aces proved their all round strength by winning all the rest of the games including the doubles to take a comfortable 7-3 win and keep themselves at the top of the league.
