Brandon A v Desperadoes

Unbeaten Brandon must have been expecting an easy game against a Desperadoes team with only a handful of points and games on the board, but where given a shock when in the first game, Simone Knopf from Brandon was beaten in the first end by Sam Duffin playing only his second game for the Sacriston club. However Simone came back strongly to end up taking player of the match by taking the next three ends and then not dropping an end against either John Reid or Nigel Duffin. He was backed up by a strong performance from John Leeman who won all his singles and helped Simone win the doubles against John Reid and Sam Duffin. Both Sam Duffin and Nigel Duffin beat Henry Davies but John Reid was unlucky not to pick up anything in his close matches and Brandon came away with 4 points in an 8-2 victory.

Eagles v Chargers

An interclub match but played with full passion from both teams. The attacking flair of Matty Hutchinson and Luke Dumighan teamed with the guile of Barry Dingwall for Eagles against the excellent Max Duffin, stoic Peter Whitfield and newcomer in his first competitive game Dennis Jennings for the Chargers. No games were easy as can be seen form the scores but the overall experience of the Chargers team came through and with only Luke Dumighan managing to smash his way past Dennis the overall score was 9-1 to Chargers to help them keep the pressure on at the top of the table.
