Club Report 011213

Aces v Thompson A. A tough game for the Aces particularly for Dave McAllister  making his debut. Both Ian McAllister and Mark Walton took one game each but that was it, as the Aces went down 8-2 to the league’s leading team.

Bombers v  Redby A.  A very tight game for Bombers against the league leaders Redby A. Bombers with Dan Hutchinson, Nigel Coe and Ian McPherson matched the opposition and were unlucky to come away with only one point in a 6-4 defeat. Ian McPherson winning two and Nigel Coe and Dan Hutchinson winning one each.

Comets v Newton D. Comets are still progressing nicely with another win to keep them top of the table. Nikki Irwin was the player of the night  taking all her singles matches, but she was well supported by Colin Pritchard taking 2 and also the debutant Terry Charlton taking 2 to give a 7-3 win to the Comets

Chargers v St Johns C. Its just as tough at the bottom of the league as at the top and a very competitive game saw Anna Kiwitt take two games, Barry Dingwall take two, John Reid take one and with Chargers taking the doubles a creditable 6-4 win was recorded giving Sacriston three points

Desperadoes v St Johns B. A very young team of Oliver Turnbull, Jack Pugh and Aidan McKie put up a tremendous show against the far more experienced St John’s team of Robert Renton, Luke Steele and Michael Wilson(out of retirement again). Although the youngsters put up a good  how and took some ends, only Oliver Turnbull had enough attacking ability to beat Luke Steele in a five ender giving Desperadoes a 9-1 defeat.
