Tournament Update

Vets British League – Derby Arena – 28th & 29th September

The first round of matches in the Vets British League came to the Derby Arena where the Draycott Club fielded 5 teams. There were mixed fortunes for all the teams with the 1st team lying in 3rd place in the Premier Division. Both the 2nd and 4th teams failed to win a match so find themselves in bottom place in their divisions but the 3rd team had the best weekend and currently lie in top spot in Division 2 with Mark Romano, Trevor Kerry, Maurice Newman and Tim Sheppard all putting in strong performances.

 

Halton Junior 1* - 6th October

On 6th October two of Draycott’s youngest rising stars competed in the Halton Junior 1* and resulted in 10-year-old Millie Noble winning her first ever U/11 tournament.  8-year-old Jemima Choudhury also scored her first ever wins in a competition winning two matches to take 2nd place.  

County Junior Matches – 12th October

The Draycott TT Club hosted the first round of County Junior Matches – Div.2A and saw the Draycott Club field the entire Derbyshire 1st team. It was a great day for the team winning all 4 of their matches.

Rowan Jones, Sam Cooper, Dexter Fairbank and Helena Dicken all won 6/8 matches but the star of the day was 15-year-old Lucy Vernon who won 7/8 matches.

County Junior Matches – 13th October

The Draycott TT Club also hosted the first round of County Cadet Matches – Div.1A and saw the Draycott Club fielded four players for the Derbyshire team from their Junior squad It was another good day for the team winning 2 and were also undefeated winning two drawing 1 of their matches.

Joseph Cooper, Jasmin Coker, Connie Dumelow and Inara Ahmed all performed really well.

Draycott Squad member - Lucy Bridle also competed for Lincolnshire.
