Derbyshire Sport – Funding Workshop
This session will be useful for members of not for profit sports clubs who are either new to grant funding or who want to brush up their skills or learn about current opportunities available for sporting activities.

The Join In Weekend will be taking place across the UK on 18/19th August. The aim is to help local clubs and community groups capture the enthusiasm for sport that the Olympic and Paralympic Games will generate.

We also discussed possible changes to the Derby Closed Tournament, and one idea was to make competitions open to men and women and not to have separate women’s and men’s tournaments.

Abbie Milwain was RU in both Junior Girl Singles and Doubles finals at the Junior National Championships at Hatfield in November. This is probably the best result for a Derby player since 1980.
