In Division 1 of the Crewe and District Table Tennis League, champions Bentley Travel Visa were 7 – 3 winners over second placed Kidsgrove with Chris Bailey on top form and two wins for Alan Marchant whilst Mike Palin’s brace of wins made him Kidsgrove main contributor. Elsewhere, PO Dragons scored a 9 – 1 win over PO Eagles with Simon Lafferty and Chris Hough both hitting maximums and two wins for Alan Darlington and PO Tigers were 9 – 1 winners against Stags with Rupert Turner, Alan Shaw and Lee Rickard all unbeaten. The divisions other result saw Elks overcome Foxes in a 9 – 1 win with James Courtney and Callum Tizard both on form and Braden Jones chipping in with two wins.
In Division 2, top side Cobras finished the season with a 7 – 3 win against Wolves with Barry Pountain. Dave Stubbs and Barrie Morgan all with a brace of wins whilst all three of the Wolves wins came from the bat of Stefan Derricutt. Lynx secured second place with a 10 – 0 thrashing of Panthers with Chris Harris, Jonathon Clarke and Tau Manonge all on top form and Bears gained a 7 – 3 win against Otters with Tom Osborne hitting a maximum and a pair of wins for Mike Farr while John Tweats notched a brace of wins for Otters. The other result was non event with Rhinos conceding their match to Bobcats.
In Division 3 title winners Sloths made a 5 – 5 draw with Stoats with Nina Elizabeth putting in an unbeaten performance and two wins from Lucas Clarke for Stoats whilst Dennis Artess brace of wins was Sloths main points earner. Woodpeckers secured second spot with a 9 – 1 win over Polecats with Arron Rutter and Marten Davies both unbeaten and a pair of wins for Martin Smith. Elsewhere, Rheas were 7 – 3 winners against a depleted Lion Cubs with Richard Derricutt unbeaten and Pumas beat an heavily depleted Water Rats 8 – 2.
In the Victory Cup, Lion Cubs will play Elks in the final of the competition after Lion Cubs beat PO Eagles by 8pts in their semi-final whilst Elks margin was even closer beating PO Dragons by 3pts.
