Bentley Travel Visa have wrapped up the Crewe and District Table Tennis League, Division 1 title with three matches to go after their convincing 9 – 1 win over PO Dragons with Will Haynes and Phil Barnish both hitting maximums and two wins for Alan Marchant. Elsewhere, Kidsgrove gained a 9 – 1 win against Stags thanks to John Dawson and Mike Palin both staying unbeaten and two wins for Barry Hughes whilst Elks and PO Tigers made a 5 – 5 draw with James Courtney hitting an hat trick win for Elks but a brace of wins each for Tigers pair Rupert Turner and Alan Shaw helped level the result.
In Division 2, leaders Cobras enjoyed a 10 – 0 win over a heavily depleted Bobcats whilst Bears gained an 8 – 2 against Rhinos with Dave Prince and Mike Farr both on top form and a pair of wins from Tom Osborne sealing the win. In the other result received Wolves were 6 – 4 winners over Panthers with Jake Brassington unbeaten for Wolves and Steve Jones notching a pair of wins for Panthers being the main highlights.
In Division 3, Sloths were 6 – 4 winners against Rheas with Joe Heywood unbeaten and two wins for Lewis Manslow whilst second placed Worleston Woodpeckers were 9 – 1 winners against Pumas Mark Baldwin. Josh Allwood and Martin Smith all unbeaten. Elsewhere, Stoats gained a 6 – 3 win against Water Rats in match where Stoats were a player short and Water Rats fielded an ineligible player. Water Rats went down for a second time this time losing 7 – 3 to Polecats with Paul Gray unbeaten for Polecats and in their other match played Polecats beat a depleted Lion Cubs 7 – 3.
