In Division 1 of the Crewe and District Table Tennis League, leaders Bentley Travel Visa were gifted the points when Stags couldn’t raise a side whilst second placed Kidsgrove enjoyed an 8 – 2 success against PO Eagles with Jan Johns and John Dawson both on form. Elsewhere Elks and PO Dragons couldn’t be separated in a 5 – 5 draw with James Courtney unbeaten and two wins for Callum Tizard for Elks, Alan Darlington’s double for Dragons being their main highlights of the match and PO Tigers ran out 9 – 1 winners over Foxes with Alan Shaw and Lee Rickard both hitting maximums along with a brace of wins for Rupert Turner.
In Division 2, leaders Cobras were 8 – 2 winners over Lynx with Barrie Morgan and Barry Pountain both unbeaten and Bears enjoyed 10 – 0 rout of Bobcats with Dave Prince, Tom Osborne and Mike Farr all on top form. Other results saw Wolves gain a 6 – 4 win against Rhinos despite an unbeaten performance from Paul Benbow, however a pair of wins each for Stefan Derricutt and Ben Wright edged the match in favour of Wolves. And lastly a match that sort of got played saw Rhinos gain a 5 – 3 win against Panthers despite not winning any of the actual games played on the night and it was Steve Jones for Panthers who was unbeaten.In Division 3, Sloths enjoyed a 10 – 0 whitewash of Water Rats with Lucas Clarke, Dennis Artess and Joe Heywood all on form whilst second placed Woodpeckers were 9 – 1 winners against Rheas with Marten Davies and Aron Rutter both notching maximums and Mark Baldwin two wins. Stoats hammered Pumas in a 10 – 0 win with Ben Ashton, Nina Elizabeth and Gavin Soulsby all too strong for the opposition.
