Week 21 Report

In Division 1 of the Crewe and District Table Tennis League, leaders Bentley Travel Visa were 8 – 2 winners over nearest rivals Kidsgrove with Chris Bailey and Alan Marchant both on form whilst PO Dragons enjoyed a 10 – 0 whitewash of PO Eagles with Bernard Thorley, Alan Darlington and Chris Hough all hitting maximums. Elsewhere, an unbeaten Alan Shaw and two wins each for Rupert Turner and Lee Rickard helped PO Tigers to an 8 – 2 win over and Stags and Elks were 8 – 2 winners against Foxes with James Courtney and Callum Tizard both on top form.

In Division 2, leaders Cobras gained a  7 – 3 win over Wolves with Barrie Morgan, Barry Pountain and Dave Stubbs all winning a brace of wins each whilst Stefan Derricutt put in a man of the match display to stay unbeaten for Wolves.  Lynx stayed in contact with the leaders with a 6 – 4 win against Panthers with two wins each for Chris Harris and Alin Vascuta being matched by a pair of wins each for Steve Jones and Braden Jones for Panthers although not sufficient to save the match. Both the other results in the division were one sided affairs with Rhinos 10 – 0 winners over Bobcats with Darryl Klopper, Paul Benbow and Steve Tizard all on form and likewise Bears enjoyed a 10 – 0 romp against Otters with Mike Farr, Ben Ashton and Tom Osborne all too strong for the opposition.

In Division 3, Woodpeckers enjoyed a 10 – 0 win over Polecats with Mark Baldwin, Mark Smith and Marten Davies all unbeaten and Lion Cubs were 9 – 1 winners against Rheas with Harrison Wright and Lucas Clarke both unbeaten and Cameron McGlincy scoring two wins.

In the Victory Cup. Rheas go into the second round after beating Kidsgrove by a 44 point margin in their replayed first round match.
