Week 20 Report

In the first round of the Victory Cup, Kidsgrove and Rheas will need to replay after finishing with the same number of points on the night whilst Elks beat PO Tigers by 11 points and Cobras won by 21pts against Bobcats. Also through are Lynx who beat Foxes by 29pts and Polecats who enjoyed a 63 point winning margin against Water Rats. Stags, Bentley TV and Panthers all conceded there matches giving Pumas, Worleston Woodpeckers and PO Dragons automatic passage into the next round.

Away from results, many congratulations to Dennis Artess who was awarded the North West Regional Volunteer of the Year 2016 award last weekend at the Halton Table Tennis Club, after being nominated by Paul Courtney. Dennis had the idea some years ago to start a new Crewe Central club and has worked tirelessly for the past 5 years to build from an original 5 player team to the club now having more than 100 players, with 6 teams now playing in the Potteries League and some 19 teams in the Crewe League. Dennis now goes forward to the national awards and is up against 9 other volunteers.
