In Division 1 of the Crewe and District Table Tennis League leaders Bentley Travel Visa were 9 – 1 winners against Elks with Chris Bailey and Will Haynes both on form and two wins for Alan Marchant and Kidsgrove gained an 8 – 2 win over PO Dragons with Jan Johns and Paul Oltean both notching maximums. Elsewhere, Rupert Turner and Alan Shaw were both undefeated for PO Tigers in a 7 – 3 win against PO Eagles and Stags also enjoyed a 7 – 3 victory over Foxes thanks to a Nadeem Ahmed maximum and a brace of wins for Rob Pritchard with Alan Goldstraw’s two wins for Foxes giving the score line respectability.
In Division 2, top of the table Cobras had an 8 – 2 victory over Rhinos with Barry Pountain and Dave Stubbs both on top form and Lynx were also 8 – 2 winners over coming Bobcats with Chris Harris unbeaten and Tau Manonge and Jonathon Clarke each with a pair of wins to their names. The other result in the division saw another 8 – 2 win with Wolves beating Otters with Stefan Derricutt and Hamish Howard both on form and in a game that didn’t get played Panthers were unable to field a team gifting Bears the points.In Division 3 Sloths were 7 – 3 winners over Pumas despite a Dennis Artess maximum for Pumas but two wins each for Robert Miller, Ian Austin and Enoch Agordo gave Sloths the win. Two successive wins have propelled Water Rats up the table, Nick Tomlinson and Phil Roy both hit maximums in a 9 – 1 win over Stoats with John Tweat notching a pair of wins and Tomlinson and Tweat were both unbeaten in an 8 – 2 win against Lion Cubs. Elsewhere, Paul Gray’s maximum for Pumas couldn’t save his side from a 7 – 3 defeat against Rheas who had Craig Wright, Tina Ralph and Christine Clapham all record a pair of wins and Stoats were 9 -1 winners against Woodpeckers with Connor Riddell and Chris Tulip both on form and two wins for Gavin Soulsby.
